Aprovechando el paron de fútbol, hoy voy a hablar de los cambios en el escudo, ese símbolo que representa al club, que algunos jugadores besan al celebrar gol, y que en una final de WIMBLEDON, SANTANA se cosió a su camiseta, para mostrar su madridismo.
El escudo ha sufrido notables cambios desde aquellos lejanos comienzos en 1902. El primer escudo del Madrid Club de Football, es el que figura en este Blog, en el contenido general. Así hasta 1908, donde se produce el cambio significativo,, pues comienzan las lineas circulares, siendo un escudo muy sencillo.
El 29 de junio de 1920, la Casa Real autorizaba al Madrid Club de Football a utilizar el término ‘Real’ en su nombre: desde entonces, el equipo se denomina Real Madrid, y el escudo pasa a tener la ya famosa corona. De todas formas, durante esas primeras décadas, el Madrid tuvo que jugar con un escudo que representara a la ciudad. Así lo decía la normativa de los primeros torneos que se jugaron en España, que obligaba a los equipos madrileños a jugar con la heráldica de la ciudad contra equipos de otras ciudades.
No cambiaría hasta 1931, donde con la llegada de la República se pierde la corona, y aparece una franja morada. En 1941 se recupera la corona, permaneciendo la franja morada, y teniendo un contenido más colorido. En el año 2001, se le da un aire moderno, por lo que las letras se expanden y la franja pasa a ser azul. Eso si, hay que decir que, tras un acuerdo de patrocinio con el Banco Nacional de Abu Dhabi y con la ropa creada por Marka Khaled al Mheirise, se suprime la cruz de la corona del escudo para esos productos. En ambos casos, el club ha alegado «consideración hacia algunas partes del Golfo que son sensibles a productos que lleven la cruz».
