CAPITULO LXXXIX. PRIMEROS ENFRENTAMIENTOS CON ITALIANOS

Ayer tuvimos enfrentamiento en Copa de Europa. Era la primera vez que jugábamos con el ATALANTA, y pese al sufrimiento, conseguimos la victoria.

Hoy quiero recordar el primer enfrentamiento con un equipo italiano. Tuvo lugar con el MILAN en la semifinal de la primera copa de Europa. Tras eliminar al SERVETTE suizo, y al PARTIZAN DE BEGRADO, en semifinales nos tocó el MILAN. El 19 de Abril de 1956 en el Santiago Bernabeu se disputó el partido de ida. Juanito Alonso; Navarro, Marquitos,  Lesmes; Miguel Muñoz,  Zárraga; Joseíto , Roque Olsen, Di Stéfano,  Rial, y Gento, entrenados por VILLALONGA. Un resultado final de 4 a 2 para los nuestros daban fe del ataque impresionante que teniamos con goles de RIAL, JOSEITO, OLSEN y  DI STEFANO. En la vuelta un 1 de mayo de 1956, el Madrid perdió 2 a 1, consiguiendo el pase a la final, que la jugariamos con el STADE DE REIMS, y como todos sabeis supuso la primera Copa de Europa.

No paró ahi los enfrentamientos exitosos con equipos italianos, puesto que al año siguiente, la final jugamos contra la FIORENTINA. El partido se jugo en nuestro campo, un 30 de Mayo de 1957. Alonso, Torres, Marquitos, Lesmes, Muñoz, Zárraga, Kopa, Mateos, Di Stéfano, Rial, Gento. Esa fue la alineación de aquel glorioso día

La gran anécdota de la previa del partido fue que la Fiorentina se negó a jugar de noche con los recién estrenados focos del estadio, de modo que el partido se tuvo que adelantar a las cinco y media de la tarde. Pese a todo, dos goles de DI STEFANO y GENTO certificaron la victoria y la segunda orejona para nuestras vitrinas. Ese año además DI STEFANO ganó el balon de oro

En general, los enfrentamientos con equipos italianos presenta un saldo favorable para el Madrid, así que, tenemos que ser optimistas para el partido de vuelta.

La sur lleva el nombre de Piermario Morosini en honor a un exfutbolista que se crio en las categorías inferiores del Atalanta y que falleció de paro cardiaco en abril de 2012 cuando disputaba un partido de la Serie B entre el Livorno, en el que militaba, y el Pescara.
