XCIV. EL MADRID-LIVERPOOL DEL 81

La semana pasada se cumplieron 29 años del fallecimiento de JUANITO. En otro capítulo contaremos algunas de sus anéctodas mas sonadas, pero hoy, tras jugar con el Liverpool, me quería referir a aquella final de Copa de Europa que los JUANITO, SANTILLANA y compañía estuvieron a punto de ganar. Eran otros tiempos, y asomarse a una Final era todo un acontecimiento, y aquel año 1981, tras ganar al INTER DE MILAN en simifinales, llegamos por fin a la añorada final. No teniamos una oportunidad desde 1966 cuando ganamos la SEXTA.

Y aquel año, toda una generación teniamos por fin la oportunidad de ver a nuestro MADRID, jugar otra vez una Final, 15 años después. Por desgracia, la final jugada en París no nos trae grandes recuerdos, y es que no en vano, esa es la ultima final de Copa de Europa que el Real Madrid ha perdido, y ha jugado unas cuantas después. Fue un partido muy trabado, y todo parecía indicar que ibamos a la prórroga, pero llegó el minuto 82 de partido. Saque de banda, que Kennedy recibió en carrera adentrándose en el área. García Cortés, lateral derecho en aquel partido, salió a su encuentro con ventaja para despejar. Sin embargo el balón votó mal, y de repente Kennedy se encontró ante AGUSTIN, quien se lanzó a tapar el posible pase atrás del inglés. Pero Kennedy golpeó duro al primer palo, y el balón se alojó en la portería del Madrid. Adios al sueño de ver al Madrid campeón de Europa. Seguia vigente el famoso anuncio de ¿y el Madrid que, campeón de Europa otra vez?

Era el madrid de los GARCIA, en unos tiempos de austeridad económica del club. Veamos la alineación: AGUSTIN, GARCIA CORTES, SABIDO, GARCIA NAVAJAS, CAMACHO, DEL BOSQUE, ANGEL, STIELIKE, JUANITO, SANTILLANA y  CUNNINGHAM, dirigidos por BOSKOV.

JUANITO, SANTILLANA, CAMACHO…., una gran generación que no pudo levantar una Copa de Europa, como tambien luego ocurrió con la Quinta del buitre, pero que no empaña la gran trayectoria de aquellos. Tiempos lejanos, pero tiempos que conviene recordar en estas épocas de grandes estrellas!!
