Esta semana no hemos hecho otra cosa que hablar de la SUPERLIGA. Y la sensación que queda es que el REAL MADRID y FLORENTINO PEREZ han salido perdiendo. Cada uno de vosostros tendrá una idea sobre este tema, pero hoy si me gustaría recordar un acontecimiento pasado que quizas nos haga reconsiderar nuestras posturas.
En concreto, nos remontamos a Junio de 1955. La UEFA aprobó organizar una competición entre clubes europeos denominada Copa de Clubes Campeones Europeos. Pero esa creación se debio al impulso del periódico francés L’EQUIPE, junto a D. SANTIAGO BERNABEU, Presidente del Real Madrid.
Y es muy interesante ver el extracto del Primer Reglamento:
«1.er proyecto de L’Équipe: febrero de 1955.
Proyecto de un reglamento de una Copa de Europa de fútbol
Una competición de fútbol reservada para los grandes equipos europeos se organiza, a partir de la temporada 1955-56, por el diario L’Équipe. Ella tiene el nombre de «Copa de Europa de L’Équipe» y dotada con un objeto de arte por el diario organizador. Tomarán parte en esta competición los equipos invitados por los organizadores. Un Comité Organizador, donde entrarán los representantes de las principales asociaciones europeas, tendrá facultades para hacer cumplir el presente reglamento.”
Competición reservada para los grandes clubes europeos, se especificaba en el mismo…..
Creación de la Copa de Europa. Bernabéu el segundo por la derecha
Fueron dieciocho los equipos que apoyaron la iniciativa. Suiza, España, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Austria, Países Bajos, Italia, Protectorado del Sarre, Dinamarca, Francia, Hungría, Bélgica, Suecia, Polonia, Alemania y Escocia fueron los representantes finales a un torneo que contó con notables equipos ausentes, como los representantes de Inglaterra y la Unión Soviética.
Todos sabemos como acabó ese sueño del entonces Presidente del Real Madrid. Todos acabaron uniéndose al ver la válidez del proyecto. Inicialmente se dijo que BERNABEU podría estar equivocado y muchos dudaron del exito de la competición.
Conviene recordar los tiempos pasados, y aprender de ellos……
