XLVII. EL DEPORTE PARA (III)

La fuerza se adquiere avanzando. Virgilio

Seguimos confinados, Y seguimos sin fútbol, sin baloncesto, sin nada.

En los capítulos anteriores, nos hemos referido a dos episodios concretos en el siglo pasado, donde el deporte tuvo que parar o al menos suspender en parte sus actividades, por varios acontecimientos ajenos al deporte.

Esta semana, necesariamente hemos de hacer referencia al momento mas conocido de la suspensión de la actividad deportiva en nuestro país, por causas ajenas al deporte en sí, y me refiero como no podía ser de otro modo, a la Guerra Civil Española.

Corría el año 1936, y mas concretamente Abril, cuando finalizó la temporada 35-36. Empezaba el verano, y los clubes se disponían a pasar la época estival planificando la temporada siguiente ,esto es, la 36-37 que nunca llegaría a disputarse por el inicio de la Guerra Civil.

Este conflicto, como todo el mundo puede adivinar, supuso la paralización de la competición nacional, de la Liga, no obstante lo cual, hubo a lo largo del país, y siempre que las condiciones lo permitieron, la disputa de partidos o torneos de diversa índole, que en ningún caso tuvieron el carácter de oficialidad, ni reconocidos por la Federación a nivel nacional, siendo el ejemplo mas conocido de ellos la llamada Liga Mediterránea, que contó con la presencia de equipos catalanes y valencianos.

¿Y que pasó con nuestro equipo en esos tiempos?. Pues el equipo paró casi por completo, siguiendo el ejemplo de los grandes clubes. Se instauró la Copa del Generalísimo, que como anécdota en esa primera edición fue conquistada por el Sevilla al imponerse al Racing de Ferrol, pero que no contó con la participación de los grandes del fútbol español como el REAL MADRID. Antes del parón, el equipo con ZAMORA, CIRIACO y QUINCOCES  a la cabeza, encadenó dos Ligas y dos Copas (la ultima justo en 1936), pero la guerra truncó la continuidad de los éxitos, que con ese gran equipo hubiesen llegado.

Un 21 de Julio de 1936, se disputo el último partido, la final de la COPA, frente al Barcelona en Valencia, con triunfo de los nuestros por 2 a 1. Zamora; Ciriaco, Quincoces, P. Regueiro, Bonet, Sauto, Eugenio, L. Regueiro, Sañudo, Lecue y Emilín. Esta fue la últim alineación ganadora antes de la Guerra.

Dentro de ese parón, lógicamente se produjeron numerosas bajas, y otras situaciones comprometidas para los jugadores. Destaca la situación de RICARDO ZAMORA, quien fue encarcelado y a punto estuvo de ser fusilado, siendo salvado precisamente por su fama, de forma que al ser reconocido por un miliciano, le ayudó en la huida, exiliándose en Francia.

Y claro, no solo los jugadores. También las instalaciones sucumbieron a la Guerra, y así en nuestro caso, el estadio de Chamartín, la madera con que estaba construida, fue aprovechada para combustible en la Guerra.

Afortunadamente aquello terminó, y los amantes al deporte volvimos a disfrutar de las competiciones. Esperemos, confiemos, en que esta vez ocurrirá lo mismo, y conseguiremos ver la luz al final del túnel.
